the scene at 12:00 is an example of a mistake that martial artists or people in general make when attacked or caught in a street fight. They let their guard down after landing a strike (or throw in this case) thus giving an opening for the opponent to attack. This is not a sport match or martial art training that you can relax a bit after succcessfully landing a strike and expect the opponent not to make a sneak attack on you. In a real combat, a small mistake can cost you your life.

Totally agree! That's why I don't believe that the strength in fighting is in the martial arts or fighting styles. It is in the person fighting or the one using the martial arts.

plus she didn't follow correct police procedures. after disengaging she should have kept her distance and called for backup immediately, NOT whip her badge out and blathered on within arm's length of the perpetrator. she's off duty, her priority was her personal safety THEN calling it in. once the guy was thrown and in respiratory shock from the impact (your average human does NOT react immediately after an over-the-shoulder judo throw onto SOLID CONCRETE!) her hand should have gone to her phone not her badge. if her phone was in the proper mode all she had to say was, "Hey Google call 110!" or whatever it is for Siri/I-Phones... and she wouldn't have to even look at her phone. she could keep her eyes on the perp on the ground.
